About Chronic Venous Insufficiency
It’s more than just a cosmetic problem. If left untreated, CVI can lead to serious problems including skin disease, capillaries bursting, skin discoloration, ulcers, inflammation, flaking, and severe pain.
Venous Insufficiency – Occurs when valves in the leg veins are not working effectively, making it difficult for blood to return to the heart.
Venous Reflux – Another name for venous insufficiency that refers to blood “pooling” when leg veins become distended
Varicose Veins – The valves in your veins may become weak, allowing blood that should go to your heart to flow backward
Spider Veins – Smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that twist and turn and are easily visible through the skin.
